Flexibility- Sit and reach test
Flexibility is the ability to move a joint smoothly through its complete range of motion (Stretching and Flexibility for Sports, 2013). To improve flexibility, static stretching would be used as it increases flexibility of the hamstring muscles therefore allowing the range of motion to increase. A good sporting example would be a gymnast as in order for them to perform certain skills; they would need agility e.g. when attempting to do the splits. Also, flexibility is needed to provide safety for the gymnast in order to reduce the chance of injury.
